Chippenham - Senior Fixed Asset

Hays are working closely with a leading UK company to recruit a Senior Finance Accountant to join their Finance team based in Chippenham. This role is to be responsible for supporting and reviewing the work produced, ensuring resolution of all queries to fully reconcile the accounts.

• Work with Finance Houses to arrange funding for leased vehicles.
• Collaborate with Procurement to ensure accurate and timely accounting of non-vehicle leases.
• Address queries from Site Accountants and foster effective communication across departments.
• Take charge of periodic reporting to the business.
• Own the Balance Sheet reconciliations, including reviewing those prepared by the Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting Assistant and resolving any discrepancies to ensure accounts are fully reconciled.
• Review and approve related controls, ensuring compliance with SOX regulations.
• Maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures.
• Help drive continuous process improvement and support the development of the team.
• Assist the Central Accounting Manager in meeting statutory reporting requirements for the half-year and full-year periods.
• Support the team during the half-year and full-year audit processes.
• Handle other accounting tasks and projects as needed by the team.

• Demonstrable Business Partnering skills and Stakeholder Management skills
• Be working towards a recognised accounting qualification (finalist) (CIMA/ACCA/AAT)
• Experience of team management
• Experience of working under pressure, prioritising and managing competing deadlines
• Demonstrating teamwork and togetherness to achieve goals,
• Ability to identify process improvements that deliver quality/efficiency benefits,
• Ability to demonstrate strong Excel skills.
