The role
As a Senior Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is a critical role, with the opportunity to engage and network with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally. You will an established team of Commissioning Engineers and act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing your technical knowledge and expertise.
Day-to-day, you'll manage and lead a team of Commissioning Engineers (Mechanical - Combat), to provide planning for the Mid Life Revalidation Period.- To manage the test group system data.
- Provide technical support for the planning of MLRP - Mid Life Revalidation Period
- To act as a Combat System Subject Matter Expert for the team
- To promote a robust safety culture within the team.
This role is full time 35, hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Senior Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical- Substantial knowledge and experience of commissioning mechanical systems on nuclear submarines, specialising in combat systems.
- Sound and demonstrable knowledge of safe release of systems, Control of Work process and Safe Systems of Work.
- The ability to manage multiple complex commissioning packages across multiple projects.
- Excellent leadership, training and developing qualities.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
- ONC is desirable or with relevant extensive experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
