We are looking to recruit a hard-working and conscientious Psychology graduate to join a highly regarded Neuropsychology Service within this Centre of Excellence for Neurosciences.

The post will focus on supporting neuropsychological input to our key services, including the Major Trauma Centre, Stroke Wards, Cambridge Memory Clinic and Outpatient Clinics. You will assist qualified staff with the assessment, formulation and intervention for Inpatients and Outpatients with neurological disorders.

The post offers excellent experience for Psychology graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in Clinical Psychology.

Main duties of the job

To assist in the provision of the Clinical Neuropsychology Service at both the diagnostic and rehabilitation level.

Person specification

Qualifications

• 2:1 or higher degree in Psychology
• Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the BPS

• Post-graduate study in a relevant field

Experience

• Experience of a clinical health setting
• Experience of psychological assessment and intervention
• Experience of managing difficult and distressing situations
• Experience of undertaking research
• Experience of working in a team environment
• Experience of furthered CPD
• Experience of producing documents to a high standard

• Relevant paid or voluntary work in clinical health psychology or neuropsychology psychology settings
• Experience of neuropsychological or psychological assessments
• Experience of working with memory disorders
• Experience of Neuro-rehabilitation

Knowledge

• Knowledge of psychological models and theory relevant to the clinical population
• Knowledge of clinical psychology procedures
• Knowledge and skills relating to the promotion of shared understanding of psychological services and interdisciplinary team working
• Current working knowledge of IT systems and databases

• Knowledge of clinical and cognitive neuropsychological models of assessment and intervention
• Knowledge of documents and literature relevant to neuropsychological services
• Knowledge of relevant professional guidelines
