Teaching Assistant – Early Years

Hours: Full time

Hays Education West Yorkshire division are looking to appoint an Early Years Teaching Assistant for a Primary school in the Bradford area.

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a nursery early years (EYFS) class on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year. This role will be full-time, and is best suited to a level 3 qualified teaching assistant who will be able to commit to the role until the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent support to early years children within the classroom
• Engaging the children with educational activities and managing transitions
• Monitor and support the children’s safety, assisting with self-care tasks
• Set up a range of engaging activities around the EYFS framework
• Promote the use of Read Write Inc phonics scheme, supported by the class teacher

Requirements:

• Experience working with children in EYFS
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner.
• Commitment to providing consistent and reliable support.
• Relevant qualifications in education or childcare, or referenceable experience within the last two years.
• Experience delivering phonics support
