Role Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Fashion Sourcing & Sustainability Assistant to support our product development, supplier management, and sustainability initiatives.
This hybrid role sits at the intersection of ethical sourcing, materials research, and responsible production, playing a key role in ensuring our products meet quality, cost, and sustainability standards.
The ideal candidate is passionate about fashion, supply chains, and environmental and social responsibility, with strong organisational skills and a proactive mindset.
What You'll Be Doing:
Sourcing & Production Support- Support detailed sourcing activities, including materials, trims, components, and finished goods
- Assist in scoping new sourcing regions and evaluating costs, regional capabilities, risks, and opportunities
- Research, identify, and onboard new suppliers and manufacturers, aligned with quality, cost, and sustainability goals
- Track costing structures, MOQs, lead times, and production capacity
- Maintain accurate sourcing databases, vendor records, and production documentation
- Support the development and execution of the sustainability roadmap, including short- and long-term goals
- Assist with the Digital Product Passport (DPP) rollout, including data mapping, supplier data collection, and process documentation
- Coordinate sustainability-related data for reporting, traceability, and regulatory compliance
- Research and evaluate sustainable materials, suppliers, and manufacturing innovations
- Support tracking of environmental and social compliance across the supply chain
- Collaborate cross-functionally to embed sustainability and traceability requirements into sourcing and product development processes
- Work closely with design, product development, and operations teams
- Prepare presentations, reports, and summaries for internal stakeholders
- Provide general administrative and project support as needed
What You'll Need:
- Strong communication & time management skills
- A keen eye for data, detail and accuracy
- Fluent use of Microsoft Office – in particular Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong commercial awareness
- A passion and enthusiasm for the Urban Outfitters brand and what we represent
- A love for fashion and be interested in the market at large
- Ability to multitask in our fast-paced office
