[ref. w49247720] Private Secretary to the Director - Financial, Professional and Business Services Directorate
The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Supporting the Director on high-profile policy areas, and contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the Private Office, delivering the highest quality support;Working across the Private Office Group, DBT and wider Whitehall in a leadership role and representing your principals’ views with credibility;
Providing strategic advice and join up on the preparation of policy advice from across Directorates, Business Group and the Department;
Working with the Senior Leadership Team to support an efficient leadership operation that reinforces the team's objectives;
Understanding, articulating, and progressing the Director’s priorities, working creatively to solve problems and unblock barriers to progress, working effectively with colleagues across DBT at senior and working level, including Ministerial offices;
Commissioning high quality briefings, submissions and visit programmes at pace; coordinating with teams to agree and negotiate high quality outcomes.
Keeping the Director informed of issues within your portfolio, building relationships with the relevant teams and horizon scanning for potential risks and opportunities.
Line management of the FPBS diary manager and assisting the Director & Deputy Director with diary management.
Supporting the Director in meetings with Directors in other parts of DBT and across Whitehall and providing read outs to the relevant FPBS team members,Ensuring the Director has a regular dialogue with key external stakeholders.
