Legal Advisor - 18 Month FTC
Purpose of the role:
- Provide general legal advice to all departments within the bank.
- Support strategic initiatives including product development and other projects
- Provide oversight of customer contractual documentation and certain customer communications.
- Review and/or negotiate commercial contracts with the bank’s suppliers.
- Liaise with external lawyers and insolvency practitioners to ensure the bank obtains sound, pragmatic legal and insolvency-related advice.
- Provide non-legal colleagues with training and know-how on legal topics.

Requirements

Necessary experience or qualifications:
Qualifications
o BA/BSC/LLB degree or equivalent experience
o LPC qualification
o Must hold a current practising certificate
o Post Qualification Experience (PQE) 5 years plus, in a reputable law firm and/or in-house
Background and experience necessary
o Working knowledge of one/two of the following areas of law:
§ banking law
§ property law
§ company/commercial law
o Experience working in-house (may include secondments)
o Transactional banking experience
o Ability to deliver sound, pragmatic legal advice
o Experience working on contentious and/or trust matters desirable
o Experience negotiating, drafting and advising on commercial contracts
