Role Purpose:
The Sustainability Director for OVG UK and Europe will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that integrate sustainability practices across all aspects of OVG’s operations, primarily focused on the food and beverage accounts through Rhubarb and other OVG subsidiaries.
They will collaborate with our VP Culinary, VP Marketing and Business Development Director to deliver OVG’s corporate sustainability strategy into the UK and Europe; integrate sustainable practices across all operations hospitality, facilities, venue operations, projects and partnerships.
The Director of Sustainability will reduce OVG's environmental footprint through waste minimisation and resource efficiency across food service operations while maintaining financial viability.
They'll develop sustainable sourcing initiatives, manage sustainability leads, track metrics, research partnerships, and lead educational campaigns while staying current on industry trends. This role supports corporate sustainability strategy, promotes initiatives with marketing teams, maintains relationships with sustainability organizations, ensures regulatory compliance, and works toward certifications like ISO 14001 and Food for Life Served Here.
The position includes business development support, and project assistance for executive leadership.
The Ideal Director of Sustainability will have:
- 5 - 10 years’ experience in a role shaping Sustainability strategy.
- Passion for sustainability practices including food waste reduction, sustainable material and packaging procurement; culinary operations
- Knowledge of premium hospitality operations
- An interest in live entertainment
- 1-2 years experience with sustainable certifications relevant to the UK and European market, such as ISO 14001, ISO 20121, Carbon Trust Standard, Food for Life Served Here, etc
- Experience / knowledge working with sustainability consultants
