Safeguarding Expert (DSL) – Immediate Start

Are you an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with a strong background in safeguarding within both primary and secondary school settings? Do you have hands-on experience using CPOMS to manage safeguarding records effectively?
We are seeking a Safeguarding Expert to join our schools immediately to support and strengthen our safeguarding procedures. This is a temporary role for a minimum of 4 weeks, with the potential for extension. You will be working across 2 sites, a Primary and a Secondary school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead safeguarding professional across both primary and secondary settings.
- Oversee and manage child protection cases, ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines.
- Utilise CPOMS to accurately log, track, and report safeguarding concerns.
- Provide support and training to staff on safeguarding best practices.
- Liaise with external agencies, including social services, to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Conduct safeguarding audits and ensure policies are adhered to.
Essential Requirements:
✔ DSL qualification with proven experience in safeguarding leadership.✔ Experience working in both primary and secondary school environments.
✔ Proficiency in CPOMS for safeguarding record management.
✔ Up-to-date knowledge of KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) and safeguarding legislation.
✔ Ability to work independently and handle sensitive issues with professionalism.
✔ Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
