As a Senior ServiceNow Developer, you will be expected to help utilise and maintain the DVLA ServiceNow Platform.

You will take control and run with problems and implementation of new requirements as they arise, providing guidance to the wider ServiceNow team and Service Management functions where necessary. This will mean you are comfortable working on the ServiceNow platform, which includes the Self-Service Portal and backend development where required.

You will also need to be proficient in JavaScript.

You will help to set direction of the Platform with your colleagues and have the ability to lead with implementing development tasks in an Agile framework.

This role will involve working alongside our key stakeholders in implementing best practice, therefore communication of technical concepts is important.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Understanding one or more Legacy Software or SaaS Systems.
  • Coaching and mentoring more junior colleagues on the Legacy or SaaS Systems.
  • Writing clean and secure code.
  • Working with other disciplines to understand what needs to be built or maintained.
  • Supporting the Legacy or SaaS system and its associated services and identify issues in production.
  • Finding ways to improve the robustness, resilience, and stability of the Legacy system or SaaS.
