SEN Teaching Assistant Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join our team in North West England, specifically in Lancashire, Preston. This is a temporary position with the expectation of working full-time hours in the Education and Training industry.- Supporting students with special educational needs in their learning and development.
- Assisting the class teacher in implementing individual education plans.
- Providing one-on-one support to students as required.
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicating effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- A relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
Prior experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.- Understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support SEN students.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced educational environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Additional training in specific areas of SEN support.
- First Aid certification.
This role involves working full-time hours on a temporary basis, supporting students with special educational needs in a school setting. The working environment may vary but will primarily be within a classroom setting.
