Financial Accountant (Minimum 3-Month Contract)
- Location: Birmingham (Remote) - Must be willing to travel to B'ham for meetings
- Salary: £200 per day
- Contract Type: Interim (Minimum 3 months)
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial controls, supporting statutory accounts production, and managing a dedicated finance team of 2.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Accurately and promptly reconcile and review balance sheet accounts.
- Execute month-end journals and manage period-end depreciation routines.
- Monthly reconciliation of the fixed asset registers with the general ledger.
- Assist in producing annual statutory accounts.
- Prepare audit-required information for designated areas.
- Facilitate the preparation and filing of regulatory and statutory returns.
- Lead and cultivate a high-performing, motivated team.
- Assist and act as a deputy in managing the Group’s VAT submissions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Essential: Qualified or QBE.
- Desirable: Experience with social housing sector knowledge, leadership and team management, understanding of financial reporting and accounting standards (FRS 102 and Housing SORP), understanding of VAT and submission requirements.
- Skills and Behaviours: Excel and data manipulation skills, strong interpersonal and ability to work collaboratively with non-professional finance colleagues.
