Our client is seeking a dedicated Fire & Building Safety Surveyor to join their team and play a crucial role in safeguarding the homes of residents in Barking and Dagenham.

About the Role:
As a Fire & Building Safety Surveyor, you will oversee fire risk assessment works for properties managed by the Council. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining a detailed database of properties and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed fire and building safety surveys for council-managed properties.
Provide expert advice on fire safety compliance and the physical condition of existing and potential properties.
Investigate building defects with a focus on fire safety and propose effective resolutions.
Prepare reports and deliver technical advice and training for non-technical staff.
Manage designated fire risk assessment tasks and ensure timely completion.
Liaise with fire authorities to address deficiencies and ensure compliance with legislative standards.

Maintain high standards of customer care and communication with stakeholders.

What We're Looking For: A qualified professional with a NEBOSH fire qualification or equivalent.

RICS accredited degree or a standard degree plus a postgraduate surveying qualification.
Proven experience as a fire/building surveyor in a maintenance environment.
In-depth knowledge of relevant codes of practise, building regulations, and health and safety legislation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
