Interim Health and Safety Manager
Rate: £350 per day
Location: Multi-site (with travel to various locations)
About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Interim Health and Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of health and safety across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing health and safety within multi-site organisations and a strong understanding of public sector duties.
This is a temporary role for six months, where you will play a key part in ensuring a safe environment for employees, visitors, and the public by maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all aspects of health and safety across multiple sites.Ensure compliance with all current health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.
Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and systems across the organisation.
Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective measures.
Ensure proper investigation of accidents and incidents, producing reports and recommending preventative actions.
Provide expert advice to senior management and operational teams regarding health and safety issues.
Lead health and safety training initiatives for staff to promote a safety-first culture across all locations.
Ensure the organisation's public sector duty obligations are met in accordance with applicable legislation.
Work closely with external auditors and agencies, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Prepare reports and documentation for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
Proven experience in health and safety management within multi-site organisations.Strong understanding of public sector duties related to health and safety.
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health and Safety.
Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and implementing H&S policies.
Ability to manage complex projects and drive improvements across multiple locations.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
Experience in handling accidents, investigations, and reporting for management.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
