Job overview

The Senior Marketing & Recruitment Officer (Digital) will be responsible for supporting all digital marketing and recruitment activity for the Division of Education & Training – bringing their technical expertise and experience to support each stage of the applicant journey and a wide variety of digital channels and tools, in order to help maximise the recruitment potential of our wide-ranging education and training programme.

To achieve this, the post-holder will take ownership of various key areas of activity – including supporting our website, creating and managing conversion-focused automation journeys, briefing and monitoring digital advertising campaigns, and taking a lead on structuring and maintaining our marketing database.
Target and data focused, with a keen eye for detail, they will seek out opportunities to optimise and iterate processes across all areas of activity, offering actionable insights and recommendations based on their in-depth analysis and reporting.

The postholder will also play a key role in bringing various digital projects to fruition, including the acquisition and implementation of a new CRM System – helping to establish innovative and future-facing ways of working for the wider team.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead on the development of up-to-date processes and procedures to ensure consistency and clarity across all areas of digital marketing activity.
  • Support the maintenance of an accurate, up-to-date database of marketing contacts.
  • Proactively support the maintenance and development of the Education & Training website.
  • Develop and oversee a suite of automation journeys, continuously monitoring performance to optimise efficacy.
  • Take a lead on briefing, monitoring and evaluating digital advertising campaigns, with the support of Student Marketing & Recruitment Managers, and external agencies.
  • Support campaign activity across a range of digital channels, including web, email and social media.
  • Undertake digital graphic design work as required, using design software such as Adobe InDesign and Canva and adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Contribute to the management of shared inboxes and social media accounts when required.
  • Produce and present regular analysis and reporting on digital marketing activity.
  • Support various high-priority digital projects, including the acquisition and implementation of a new CRM System within the coming academic year.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Student Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions team, as well as the Digital Communications Manager supporting the wider activity of DET – including participating in events outside of normal working hours.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar digital marketing or communications role
  • Experience working with range of digital marketing tools and systems
  • Experience of using a CRM System, including automated journeys
  • Experience of supporting a website, using a CMS and appropriate analytics and tracking tools
  • Experience of working with social media scheduling and analytics tools
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within the education and training sector
  • Experience of working with external agencies, e.g. advertising and web
