Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will support the service in delivering structured activities and assisting in the planning for individual and group therapeutic interventions. You will build one-to-one rapports with service users to encourage participation in activities and empower recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant/Activities Coordinator, you will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities in order to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant you will be able:

  • To assist Occupational Therapists, Nurses and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans
  • To support service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services
  • To maintain adequate records, entering details in the service user healthcare records

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience working with young people in healthcare or education settings
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with adolescents and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Creativity in designing activities that are fun, therapeutic, and inclusive. Sensitivity to the challenges faced by individuals with eating disorders
  • Previous experience in activity coordination, recreational therapy, or working in a Mental Health or healthcare setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of eating disorder treatment principles and approaches
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment

Bere Clinic is a 12 bed CAMHS service to support young people aged 12-18 with eating disorders. With an onsite school providing educational services while the young people are in our care and full multidisciplinary team, it’s a great opportunity to be part of something new and help shape its future.
