A leading not-for-profit organisation in Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to support the delivery of an efficient and compliant procurement service. This role is perfect for a motivated procurement professional looking to take ownership of high-impact projects and help drive value across a significant annual spend of approx.£52 million.
Job Description
The RoleYou'll play a key part in a small but high-performing procurement team, supporting procurement strategy and delivering cost-effective, compliant solutions that align with organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on procurement projects across various categories, including preparing tender documentation and managing end-to-end processes.
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders across departments, supporting strategic decision-making.
- Ensure all procurement activity complies with UK legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023.
- Help develop and implement targets related to cashable savings and social value.
- Support supplier base consolidation and effective contract management in collaboration with senior colleagues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement and contract management systems.
The Successful Applicant
About YouWe're looking for a proactive and skilled individual with:
- A strong background in public sector procurement.
- A relevant qualification (e.g. MCIPS, CIPS) or working toward one.
- Knowledge of public procurement law and regulations.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.
- A commercial mindset and attention to delivering value for money.
