Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Year 6 Teacher to join our team on a temporary basis, starting from November 2024. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in primary education, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire and motivate students in their final year of primary school.
Responsibilities:
- Classroom Instruction: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons to Year 6 students that align with the National Curriculum and school guidelines.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents. Prepare and conduct end-of-term assessments.
- Differentiated Instruction: Tailor teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with special educational needs or disabilities.
- Behavior Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment through effective behavior management strategies.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and improvement of the school's curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching techniques and resources.
- Parent and Guardian Communication: Establish and maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and well-being.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to promote a cohesive and supportive learning community.
- Planning and Marking: Develop and implement lesson plans, homework assignments, and assessments. Ensure timely and accurate marking of student work.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices in teaching, attend staff meetings, and participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working in primary schools, ideally with Year 6 students
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Effective classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedication to the success and well-being of students
Working Hours: This is a full-time position, with work hours from Monday to Friday. The exact working hours will be in accordance with the school's timetable.
