Science Teacher
We are seeking to appoint a talented and inspiring Teacher of Science to join a supportive, exciting, and successful Science Department.
The progress and attainment of students at GCSE are impressive at our school and the subject is extremely popular. All science lessons are taught in well-equipped laboratories with interactive whiteboards.
The successful candidate will share our vision of achieving excellence and raising further standards of teaching and learning across the department and is passionate about their subject and in developing a love of Science through discovery and practical investigations.You will be a team player with a clear understanding of current and future curriculum developments. Collaboration plays an important role within the department: the staff love to enhance the experience of the students by sharing good practices, resources, and ideas for practical work.

The post will provide the successful applicant with opportunities to teach science across the full age and ability range at KS3 and KS4.
The role:
- To set challenging teaching and learning objectives which meet the needs of all students
- To promote new teaching methods based on research and evidence-informed teaching practice that improves learning and challenges our students to think and to learn, and monitor their effectiveness in raising standards of teaching and learning.
- To actively seek to develop professionally and share good practice.
- To implement the school’s monitoring and assessment strategies to evaluate students’ progress towards meeting their targets.
- To use monitoring and assessment information to improve planning and teaching.
- To have high expectations of students and build successful relationships centred on teaching and learning.
- To establish a purposeful learning environment that promotes the school’s ethos and vision, and where students feel safe and secure and confident.
We are looking for individuals who have:
- Qualified Teacher Status
- hold a proven track record of delivering academic performance
- possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire pupils and colleagues
- have excellent classroom management skills.
- be highly motivated and have a strong commitment to contributing to the development of an outstanding department
- be highly knowledgeable in your subject area
