Salary: £29,269 - £32,076 (Salary and Grade will depend on experience, skills, abilities and qualifications to be reviewed in the interview process)

Hours: 36.66 per week (will accept applicants looking for flexible working hours)

We will also accept applicants for secondment, subject to manager approval.

Role Overview:

Oldham Council is looking to recruit a digital officer to support the coordination and development of digital provision in Oldham. Based within the Get Oldham Working programme, the successful candidate will not only help support the coordination of digital provision across Oldham, however, will also provide delivery of digital provision direct to Oldham residents seeking employment and skills.

The post will work closely with Oldham councils’ access to digital scheme and local libraries / community provision. The key aims will be to support Oldham residents who have digital barriers to employment and skills, to access and increase basic digital skills, and to enhance access for Oldham residents to access higher digital skills via Bootcamps and other training to increase competitiveness and access to jobs within the digital industry.

Flexible Hiring: we welcome candidates to apply for part-time, reduced hours, job share and flexible working, we also offer a mixture of home and on site working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mapping and research of digital provision in Oldham and Greater Manchester for the benefit for Oldham residents and partners.
  • Promote relevant digital provision to residents and partners in line with project key aims.
  • Evaluate quality of digital provision and feedback to key partners / management.
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate digital provision direct to Oldham residents who have digital skills as a barrier to employment and skills.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of delivering digital skills in a group and/or 1 to 1 format.
  • Ability to research, evaluate and map out digital provision or similar.
  • Ability and experience in working in partnership with others.
  • Ability and experience of marketing products and services to ensure maximum take up.
