As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in helping us uncover insights, make informed decisions, and drive positive changes in healthcare delivery.
You will provide high quality and efficient data analysis and reporting using Microsoft Excel and R, as well as the wider Microsoft Office Suite. Substantial experience of using Excel in an analytical role is essential. Knowledge of R is preferred, as we undertake a lot of our analysis in R, but training and support on the use of R can be provided if required.
Your responsibilities will include working with large healthcare datasets, utilising filters and formulae in Excel such as VLOOKUPs, HLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, COUNTIFs etc. to analyse data and prepare it for reporting to key stakeholders within the region.You will also assist in geospatial mapping projects using R and its associated mapping tools. Collaborating with internal teams, you'll understand data needs and deliver valuable insights. Ensuring data accuracy, attention to detail, and quality control in all analysis will be essential.
You'll communicate complex data findings effectively to stakeholders of all levels of data literacy and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to commission and evidence healthcare improvement projects. Full support / training as needed will be provided.

- Be highly numerate and literate and use a variety of analytical techniques to provide high quality, timely analysis and intelligence relating to key priorities of NHS England. These priorities will include assurance and accountability, commissioning, transformation, quality and safety, finance and policy and strategy development.
- Be adaptable when finding analytical solutions to problems, to analyse and triangulate data in innovative ways and present findings clearly to a range of audiences.
- Utilise automation techniques to improve efficiency and accurate where appropriate (primarily in Excel and R/Python or similar)
- Have good communication skills and be able to work effectively with people with different perspectives to get the most out of stakeholder relationships.
- Support teams to ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects is planned, managed and delivered effectively.
- Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring healthcare outcomes, implementation and evaluation of tasks/projects by providing high quality support including complex information and analysis, communications and stakeholder management.
- Ensure accurate and open communication and co-ordination with a range of organisations and individuals and lead reporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions and projects.
- Be a key member of the team as well as supporting effective communication and stakeholder management, both internally and externally.
