Job overview
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support complex change by bringing Systems Engineering methodology and approach to bear in the development, execution, and management of innovation projects. This role is novel within ICHP and indeed within the NHS and so we are looking for a candidate who is excited to work with us to shape the role in line with the needs of our organisation, our staff and our partners.With this in mind, we’re interested to hear from a diverse range of candidates who feel they may be able to fulfil the majority of the requirements within the JD.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The description of the role is generic, without reference to specific projects or programmes, which will change over time. Postholders will be assigned to specific projects and programmes during the year, in line with the objectives and development plan agree each year; and based in part (not exclusively) on the skills centre to which the post is designated.Postholders will be expected to work in project-based ‘matrix’ teams, working with colleagues drawn from across the organisation. And, commensurate with the seniority of the role, postholders will be expected to act as designated senior leads for one or more matrix projects, with a responsibility to lead across the whole project team, coordinating inputs from colleagues with different specialist inputs to secure delivery of work that meets the client need.

Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria- Extensive expertise and understanding of the Engineering lifecycle
- Proficiency in applying Systems Engineering principles
- Experience and knowledge in Requirements and Integration Verification and Validation (IVV) of products
- Experience in delivering complex healthcare-related improvement projects and programmes, and working alongside senior clinical and operational professionals
- Experience of working at a senior level in health service, local authority, academic, or related field
- Bachelors qualification or equivalent experience in a STEM subject
- Prince2 or Agile methodology equivalent experience for the management of complex projects
- Proven experience of establishing and leading on national strategic work in relation to policy development, operations, and systems
