We are a strong MDT comprising of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapist, Dietitian, Nurses, Psychologists, Therapy Instructors/ Senior Assistants, Social Work, Assistant Practitioners and expert Administrative support.

We are a Green NCA accredited status team, our standards are high. We are committed to the delivery of high-quality patient centered care at all times – and how we can all improve this.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated, dedicated and innovative individual to join our specialist service . You will have an extensive and varied background of neurology experience, ideally in Acute and Community, and Stroke and Neuro.

We are looking for:

  • Experience mainly in Stroke and Neurorehab in community setting but ideally with some Acute exposure
  • Good level of post graduate training in area of speciality
  • Supervision of Band 6 staff and below
  • Provide rich student placements as Clinical Educator
  • Contribute to team development in own profession and wider MDT.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Highly effective communication
  • Successful team player
  • Ability to demonstrate drive and initiative
  • Experience of service improvement projects
  • Expected to cover weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis
  • IT skills applicable to the role
  • Ability to cover the geographical footprint in Salford (this does not include public transport)

Professional qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional qualification for role e.g BSc Honours Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration

IT systems

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable skills in Microsoft e.g. Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Note
  • Experience of using healthcare IT systems e.g. EPR, data entry systems

Ability to cover geographical footprint

Essential criteria
  • Ability to cover the wide geographical footprint (public transport not applicable)

Evidence of CPD

Essential criteria
  • • Evidence of wide clinical theoretical knowledge base and specialist knowledge in assessment and treatment of Stroke and Neurology patients.
Desirable criteria
  • Masters level module

Knowledge and skills

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of understanding of working in complex healthcare systems
  • Extensive level of experience of providing Stroke rehabilitation in a healthcare setting applicable to the role
  • Extensive experience of providing Neuro rehabilitation in a healthcare setting applicable to the role
  • Experience of providing Stroke or Neuro rehabilitation in the community setting
  • Demonstrable skills of working in an MDT
  • Highly developed communication and leadership skills
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working at a senior level in a Community Stroke and Neuro team

Service improvement

Essential criteria
  • Experience of leading on service improvement projects
  • Evidence of understanding and application of the Audit process
  • Evidence of understanding of Quality Improvement principles
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrable skills in Quality Improvement work

Supervision of staff and students

Essential criteria
  • Experience of supervising non registered staff e.g. therapy assistants
  • Experience of supervising more junior registered staff e.g B5 and B6
  • Extensive experience of undertaking Clinical Educator role
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of supervising registered staff outside of profession
