To have the designated lead for individual strategic/operational work streams on behalf of the Directorate/Trust. To lead on Directorate workforce planning. To work with all the teams to take positive action with respect to diversity and ensure equity of services.
Work with the Service Director on the development of Cost Improvement Projects. Proactively work with service areas, peers and colleagues to ensure service user and public involvement with services and service development in accordance with Trust and National policy and Directorate and Trust initiatives.
Development of business cases and growing and developing services in partnership and across pathways. Lead on aspects of often complex service development and delivery in an integrated environment working across organisations. Lead on service change and consultations as required ensuring wider stakeholder engagement and involvement is achieved via the development of stakeholder engagement plans.
Oversee the successful implementation of the Trust Strategy within the directorate. Ensure the achievement of all required service objectives, targets and standards. Achieve financial targets for the service ensuring the efficient and effective use of financial, staffing and physical resources.
With the service Director Lead the directorate management team ensuring a focus on what needs to be achieved and how this will be done. Provide inspirational and facilitative leadership in conjunction with the Service and clinical director to all staff within the directorate.
Provide leadership within the local health economy to improve patient care. Build and maintain effective partnerships with external stakeholders, including Local Authority, GP groups, ICB Groups, acute care providers and the third sector. Ensure effective systems, policies and procedures to manage clinical and non-clinical risks and maintenance of an up-to-date risk register.
Ensure there are effective systems, practices and skills in place for the recruitment, deployment, supervision, career development, performance management and appraisal of all staff in the directorate. Ensure excellent communication systems and necessary relationships are in place so staff in directorate are involved in decision making and informed of same.

Ensure that there are effective systems in place to support the meaningful involvement of patients and carers in service development and delivery.
