Applications are invited from qualified Scrub Practitioners who wish to provide dynamic support to the Surgeons, Anaesthetists and the theatre teams. This post is looking to strengthen the structure within the Friarage theatre team.

The Surgical Hub offers state of the art technologies in a modern environment. The hub has 6 main theatres, 2 minor ops theatres, a 2 bay regional anaesthetic area and a 10 bay recovery area with onsite admission and discharge areas.

Main duties of the job

The theatres provide an operating service to the following clinical specialities:

General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedics, Maxillo-facial ,ENT and Ophthalmic.

You will need to be an active member of the multidisciplinary team by demonstrating a range of essential skills to meet the needs of the patient in a safe caring environment that promotes evidence based practice

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with NMC or ODP with HCPC
  • Nursing Degree/Diploma or ODP qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Theatre experience
  • Experience working within an acute or community setting
  • Experience of Multi-disciplinary working

Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)

It is the policy of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who are new to the Trust who require DBS clearance for the post they have been offered, are required to pay the cost of their DBS.
