Job Description
VAT:
- Prepare and submit VAT returns for both Ireland and UK submissions.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of all VAT accounts for the UK and Ireland.
- Create reconciliation templates for monthly VAT returns, including the training and development of staff on VAT-related matters.
- Participate in the migration of VAT submissions to new MTD software.
- Prepare VAT forecast versus actuals for cash flow forecasts.
Corporate Reporting:
- Prepare current and deferred tax monthly calculations and journals.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for the UK and Ireland.
- Review and explain current and deferred tax movements for monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Support on the group effective tax rate exercise (forecasting/actuals vs forecast analysis)
Corporation Tax:
Support on:
- Preparation of the tax note for statutory accounts.
- Analysis of fixed asset acquisitions for capital allowance (including SBA's) claims.
- Analysis of P&L expenditure for corporation tax returns.
- CIR calculations and GPA allocations.
- Group loss relief allocation.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Tax Accountant should have:
- Proven experience in a tax and compliance role, with a strong financial reporting background.
- Knowledge of UK and Ireland tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and mentor team members.
- Proactive and innovative mindset, with the ability to take initiative and drive improvements.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, particularly during month-end reporting periods.
- A competitive salary of £450 per day, with an estimated range between £405 and £495.
