Here at St Bonaventure’s we look after and nurture our staff, looking to develop them through department specific CPD's and manage teacher workload by ensuring that a plethora of shared resources are available to aid delivery of the curriculum.We have a focus on pedagogy; informed by research and the sharing of best practice to aid the attainment of our students.
We are looking for a Maths Teacher, with the potential for additional role as an Assistant Curriculum Leader in Mathematics (for the right candidate) who will contribute to the development of pedagogy, teaching & learning and attainment in the Maths Department.
Experience in teaching KS3 and KS4 Maths is essential, additional experience in teaching in A Level Mathematics at KS5 is preferable.
Our vision as a Mathematics Department is to ensure that students are:
- Taught the mathematical skills and methods necessary to function as independent members of society;
- Able to read, write and verbalise their Mathematical knowledge to transfer their skills into other subjects;
- Able to enjoy the subject, whilst learning in an environment that is safe, structured and creative;
- Challenged to an appropriate level in order to achieve their full potential.
- Able to demonstrate a deeper understanding of key mathematical skills.
The Maths team teaches the full range of ability for pupils aged 11 to 18. Students sit exams following the Edexcel Exam Board at GCSE, and Edexcel Examination Boards for Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A Level . We have a high proportion of students entered for the higher tier at GCSE and A Level Maths is one of the most popular choices within our 6th Form.
We expect that you will have evidence of excellent lesson practice and high expectations of pupil attainment and, if overseas trained, we would need evidence that your professional qualifications are recognised in the UK by UK ENIC &/or the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA).
