About The Role

As an Accounts Payable Clerk at SMT GB, you will play a key role in our Finance team, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. You will work closely with internal departments and external vendors to ensure that all financial obligations are met in a timely manner.

What you will be doing:

  • Process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring all relevant information is captured and recorded.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, including obtaining necessary authorizations and ensuring payments are made on time.
  • Review and reconcile supplier statements, making necessary investigations and adjustments.
  • Resolve any invoice or payment discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and respond to vendor inquiries and address any issues or disputes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and provide support for audits.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper coding and classification of expenses.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
  • Previous experience in an accounts payable role or similar finance position.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues effectively.
Desirable
  • Eperience with Sage accounting software
