The NHS HIOW Primary Care Team is seeking maternity cover for the role of Operations Lead on a fixed term/secondment basis for 12 months.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work on a variety of projects and tasks collaborating with different teams within the ICB and with providers.
Working autonomously, the post holder will be responsible for the quality assurance and payment of enhanced services as well as ensuring GP contracts are kept up to date. The role is a great opportunity to develop skills in project management, risk management, dealing with sensitive information and leadership.
The post holder will have the opportunity to learn about Primary Care and the wider healthcare system.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Negotiate, monitor and review a portfolio of primary care (GP) contracts including GMS/APMS/PMS, Contract Network DES, local enhanced services and other national enhanced services.
Responsible for the development and production of information systems and reports to support business decisions, capacity planning and the ongoing monitoring of contracts
To ensure that the ICB is best placed to understand changes in contract performance and that payment processes are supported by appropriate analysis.
Assimilate and interpret complex guidance, information and data relating to both finance and activity (working with other team colleagues)
To liaise with Primary Care Providers and ICB colleagues to resolve queries and provide expert guidance.
Person specification
Knowledge, Training and Experience
Essential criteria- Educated to a degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
- Further training or significant experience to post-graduate diploma level in project management.
- Experience of building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Communication and Relationship Skills
Essential criteria- Clear communicator with excellent written and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately to a diverse and varied range of audiences consisting of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, on complex matters and difficult situations.
- Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required.
Analytical and Judgement Skills
Essential criteria- Ability to analyse very complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources. Numerate and able to understand complex financial issues combined with deep analytical skills.
- Able to deal with challenging people and to cope with confidential and sensitive information.
- Takes decisions on difficult and contentious issues where there may be a number of courses of action.
Planning and Organisational Skills
Essential criteria- Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
- Strong programme management experience.
- Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures.
