Graduate Sports Assistant
Fixed Term Contract from September 2025 - July 2026
44 hours per week, term time plus 1 week for INSET training
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Graduate to coach sport at all levels from Year 7 to 13. The applicant will be expected to contribute to the wider games programme, including supporting pre-season training.
The Graduate Sports Assistant will be involved in coaching sport at Wells Cathedral School six days a week, including Saturdays, during term time. This will include a busy timetable within the Physical Education and Sports department, leading sessions and working with specialist PE teachers and games coaches.
The School offers a competitive sports programme, very popular with our pupils in this unique co-educational day and boarding school in the heart of the West Country. It would be ideally suited to those with a passion for sport and young people who are looking to gain relevant experience before embarking on a formal teaching qualification.It would also suit a newly qualified teacher looking to gain experience in a thriving independent boarding school. The candidate will be expected to have expertise in at least one of our core sports (Football, Rugby, Hockey, Netball, Cricket and Tennis).
