We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Staff Nurse to work 24.66 hours per week.
The current working hours are Monday-Friday day shifts working 07:00-20:00, no weekends, Bank Holidays or night shifts
You will be based on D Ward/Orthopaedic Admissions Unit at Wrightington Hospital. Both areas are Admission and Day Case Units for Lower Limb Orthopaedic Surgery.
Candidates will only be shortlisted if they have a valid NMC registration.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidates duties and responsibilities will be to- Manage the admission of patients undergoing Orthopaedic surgery.
- Provide pre and post operative care to Orthopaedic Patients.
- Facilitate Nurse-led Discharge for Day Cases.
- Administer medication and effective communication with the MDT.

#On-Call
Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities- Provide dedicated skilled assistance to medical personnel within the department.
- Demonstrate the underpinning of theoretical knowledge within the clinical practice of infection control, health and safety, ethical and legal issues.
- Demonstrate adaptability of the role within departmental specialties.
- Recognise the appropriateness of transferable skills when providing high quality patient care.
- Demonstrate application of professional standards in all aspects of patient care delivery within the clinical environment.
- Responsible in ensuring the effective running of the department in the absence of the Ward Manager/Deputy Ward Manager.
- Demonstrate the ability to assess patients and act appropriately.
- Organising own time and that of junior staff and learners.
