Teacher of German
Full Time, Permanent
Start date: 1 September 2025
Leicester Grammar School is one of the UK's top-performing co-educational HMC independent day schools. Our pupils enjoy exceptional opportunities within and beyond the classroom; we have high expectations, but the success of our community stems, above all, from a culture of aspiration and care.We attract positive, polite and grounded children, who display a strong sense of respect for one another and for staff. Concerns over behaviour are rare; our pupils thrive in a calm and purposeful community, well supported and guided by staff.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly qualified full-time linguist to join our Modern Foreign Languages team to teach German. The successful candidate will demonstrate strength and experience with teaching German up to A Level; the ability to offer a second language to Key Stage 3 or 4, may be an advantage.
This role is for a September 2025 start, and presents a wonderful opportunity to benefit from Leicester Grammar School's focus of delivering engaging teaching to instil a passionate interest in your subject within a like-minded department, while also providing pupils with optimum exam preparation.
Besides teaching, you would also contribute fully to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the Modern Foreign Languages department and Leicester Grammar School generally.
Snapshot of our Modern Foreign Languages Department

We aim to bring fun to language learning whilst stretching pupils to inspire a global outlook and a passion for foreign language and culture, and as such the results for German, Spanish and French are consistently high at Leicester Grammar School.
