This is an exciting opportunity to take on a role within the Trust’s Operational Transformation Team. We are looking for individuals that are highly motivated, innovative and experienced in project management, operations and analytics to deliver a challenging but exciting programme of change.

You will have the opportunity to hold a key role in the Trust, driving the implementation of existing strategic and operational transformation plans, developing plans working in partnership with the other organisations.

You will be a key part of the Trust’s Operational Transformation Team and you will be accountable to the Chief Operating Officer. On a day-to-day basis, aligned to the portfolio of schemes you are responsible for, you will have an operational line of responsibility to the relevant CBU Managers and to the relevant Senior Transformation Delivery Manager.

You will work closely with the CBU Managers, clinical directors and lead nurses to effect change in a timely way, aligned to the trusts values and governance procedures. There is an overarching CIP programme that will be linked to certain transformation projects and this will be monitored through the Finance team to ensure delivery against plan.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the Trust’s Operational Transformation Team, you are responsible for effective planning, delivery and monitoring of projects sponsored and supported corporately through the and transformation programmes.
  • You will develop highly collaborative relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders to deliver your role and the agreed outcomes of your portfolio.
  • You will provide professional leadership & guidance to the wider trust and staff in relation to effective project management monitoring and leadership.
  • You will critically analyse information and risks in order to inform wider decision making.
  • You will work with the CBUs to use finance and performance information to identify additional areas for CIPs and Transformation.
  • You will provide expertise and support to the CBUs to ensure changes are managed in a planned and smooth manner.
  • You will assist the CBUs to understand the impact of their changes on other areas of the Trust and ensure that all plans are in the best interest of the whole Trust.
  • You will ensure all projects managed by the Operational Transformation Team adhere to best practice and standard approaches for programme and project management.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring adequate links between finance, information, HR. operations and transformation ensuring that all teams are kept well informed of changes.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Undergraduate degree in relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • • Masters level study or equivalent experience
  • • Experience of working within the NHS
  • • Understanding of acute patient pathways and service delivery
  • • Working knowledge of service improvement tools and techniques
  • • Experience of monitoring change and facilitating staff in changing their working practices
  • • On-going self-led programme of continuous professional development
  • • Knowledge and understanding of clinical and corporate governance and risk management systems and processes
Desirable criteria
  • • Experience of working in an NHS acute environment
  • • Experience of using clinical and patient administration systems

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Developed interpersonal, diplomacy and facilitation skills
  • • Ability to work at pace, establish effective working relationships and develop strong team working
  • • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and presentation skills at all levels
  • • Ability to communicate via a range of mediums (reports, policies, coaching, teaching, meetings management) to a range of personnel
  • • Ability to analyse data and diagnose problems. Proven reasoning and negotiating skills
  • • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities and meet specific deadlines
  • • Advanced user of Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies

Essential criteria
  • • Project management experience and delivery or relevant operational, clinical or analytical experience in an NHS setting
  • • Experience of managing risk and reporting by exception
  • • Experience of identifying key stakeholders and developing effective relationships
