Job Title: Logistics Administrator – Food Industry

Location: Palethorpes Bakery Maer Lane, Market Drayton, Shropshire, TF9 3AL

Hours: 6am –16:30pm Wednesdays to Saturdays

a key role in keeping our food supply chain running smoothly!

Job Purpose:

As a Logistics Administrator, you will be at the heart of our logistics operation, ensuring the efficient processing of inbound

deliveries, verifying purchase orders, and supporting key accounts. You'll work closely with vendors, hauliers, and internal

departments to maintain accurate stock records, resolve logistics issues, and help manage third-party logistics (3PL)

partnerships. This is a vital role that supports the logistics team during busy periods, ensuring the smooth operation of our food

manufacturing and distribution processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inbound Delivery Bookings: Process and manage delivery bookings from vendors and hauliers via phone and email, ensuring that
materials arrive on time to meet production needs.
  • Purchase Order & Invoice Processing: Verify purchase orders and invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance before payments are
processed. Your attention to detail will ensure we only pay for what we receive.
  • 3PL Performance Management: Support the logistics team in managing third-party logistics partners, investigating service
failures, and recouping costs when necessary. Help identify areas for service improvement and contribute to KPI enhancements.
  • Stock File Management: Ensure that the site's on-site and off-site stock levels are accurate by cross-referencing reports and
using the Lawson stock management system.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Use your analytical skills to support stock management and logistics operations. You’ll work with
complex data sets to identify opportunities for improving processes and performance.
  • Logistical Support: Assist with vehicle bookings and arrange stock movements as needed to support supply chain continuity.
  • Team Support: Step in to cover planned absences and assist with extra workload during peak periods, ensuring that the logistics

team continues to run efficiently.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Confident in both verbal and written communication, you’ll be dealing with various stakeholders at
all levels, including external partners and internal teams.
  • Numerical & Analytical Expertise: With a high level of numeracy and statistical capability, you’ll handle data processing and
ensure the accuracy of stock management.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: You’re a natural at identifying challenges and finding solutions, particularly in a fast-paced
logistics environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Able to juggle multiple tasks at once, you’ll ensure that bookings, stock, and deliveries are managed
effectively and in line with production schedules.
  • IT Proficiency: You’re comfortable using stock management systems and Excel, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptability & Flexibility: Embrace challenges, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be ready to take on new tasks as needed

to support the logistics team.
