Sue Ross Legal are working with a leading legal services provider in the recruitment of a Serious Injury Paralegal. Our client is a top 100 UK law firm, specialising personal injury, uninsured loss recovery, serious and catastrophic injury, accidents at work, and employer liability and public liability.

Due to a period of continued growth, the firm are actively seeking dedicated, and ambitious Paralegals to support the lead file handlers in the progression of their serious injury caseload.

Duties:
 •  Produce standard free form letters to progress cases using the case management system (Proclaim).
 •  Obtain and review medical records.
 •  Collate evidence for detailed and provisional assessment.
 •  Answer the telephone as the first point of contact for your Fee Earner, and deal with telephone enquiries wherever possible.
 •  Achieve KPI’s on a monthly basis as agreed with your line manager.
 •  Where appropriate, schedule appointments for the Fee Earner.
 •  Liaise with the Finance Department regarding the payment of disbursements, outstanding accounts etc.
 •  Contribute to the smooth running of the firm by assisting other members of staff in periods of peak demand with document production, task list maintenance, taking telephone calls and general administrative duties.
 •  To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business.

Essential skills and experience:
 •  Experience of working in a similar role supporting on cases valued over £150k.
 •  Commitment to delivering excellent client care for clients.
 •  Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
 •  Accountable for achieving objectives in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining high standards of work quality and client care.
 •  Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of Excel and Word.
 •  Good attention to detail and strong organisational and time management skills.

This role offers a mixture of office and remote working, but you must be able to attend the Wakefield office when needed (this role requires 2 days minimum in the office per week).
