RESP Communications Officer - External Communications

Duration - 6 Months with scope to extend

Location - Warwick/Remote

Introduction

The Regional Energy Strategic Planning (RESP) team has been established to deliver the new RESP role, as defined by Ofgem in their RESP Policy Framework, published in April 2025. The RESP service is made up of a central 'hub' team and eleven regional 'spokes'.

The regional teams cover Scotland, Wales and nine English regions.

The central hub includes the RESP Engagement and Communications (E&C) team. The E&C team is responsible for developing the delivery of the RESP service's engagement and communications strategy, coordinating its delivery, and for delivering certain elements.

RESP central communications activities are delivered by the RESP E&C team, focused on both external and internal/ audiences.

This role sits within the RESP E&C team, leading and supporting the delivery of the team's communications responsibilities.

The RESP team sits within the Strategic Energy Planning (SEP) directorate.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create and manage the development of a suite of RESP external communications materials, including FAQs, lines to take, website articles and updates, newsletter articles, social media posts, PowerPoint presentations, press releases, animations, video and script development
  • Managing RESP related media enquiries with the Corporate Affairs team
  • Organise and promote RESP external events and webinars
  • Work closely with other communications teams, including the SEP Communications team and the Corporate Affairs team
  • Work with other teams within the Strategic Energy Planning directorate and with the Corporate Affairs team for approval of communications
  • Gather input from other RESP, SEP and colleagues to ensure accuracy of communications

  • Ability to summarise complex information into high level communications for non-technical audiences
