Specialist Children`s Occupational Therapist - Band 6

This band 6 post is a great opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to develop their clinical and skills working with a varied caseload of children and young people in outpatient and community settings. If you can demonstrate experience of working with children and young people and you enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team and have great communication skills, please apply.Dependent on experience, this post is suitable either as a development post for a band 5 into a band 6, or at band 6 level. The Children`s Therapies team is based in the Children`s Centre at the Royal United Hospitals Bath with great resources and a friendly, experienced team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to support your development.
Please note as this is a community post , a car driver with access to your own vehicle is essential. The department are not able to sponsor applicants from overseas.
Main duties of the job- The post holder provides a high standard specialist community based Occupational Therapy service, working alone in a variety of community settings
- To manage a complex and highly specialised caseload of children with a range of complex needs, within a defined geographical area, providing quality Occupational Therapy and effective case management.
- Using evidence-based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and contribute to the diagnostic process.
- To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated area, holding responsibility for defined projects. .
- To regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements and undertake supervision of other Occupational Therapy staff.
- To participate in and teach on the department’s in-service training programme as well as external training to other groups.
