The Role
This pivotal role requires exceptional leadership and a dedication to operational excellence. You’ll support our Kitchen Manager, overseeing daily kitchen activities, from rota and menu planning to costing. If you have a passion for quality and an eye for
detail, this role is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership position and help shape the culinary experience at Ocean.
Responsibilities- Operational Excellence: Adhere to recipes, reduce waste, maintain stock, and ensure all food and beverage areas meet
- Health & Safety: Uphold strict compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including COSHH and PPE
- Food Safety: Ensure food safety practices align with both statutory and company requirements.
- People Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Essential: BTEC/NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality Management or Professional Cookery, with at least 2 years of experience as a Sous
- Essential: Proven knowledge of stock control, Health and Hygiene Regulations, and exceptional leadership and people management
- Desirable: Level 2 Food Safety, current First Aid at Work Certificate, and experience in menu planning and costing.
