Stroke Consultant

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Stroke Consultant to join a well-established healthcare team in Derby, UK. This role is available on both a permanent and contract basis, offering flexibility to suit individual career preferences.

As a Stroke Consultant, you will play a vital role in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of stroke patients, ensuring the highest standards of patient care while contributing to service development and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the care and management of acute stroke patients, including thrombolysis and thrombectomy services.
• Oversee stroke rehabilitation programs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient recovery.
• Provide specialist advice on stroke prevention, diagnosis, and long-term management.
• Supervise and support junior doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals in stroke care.
• Participate in stroke unit ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Contribute to clinical governance, research, audits, and service development initiatives.
• Deliver teaching and training sessions for medical students, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
• CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Stroke Medicine, Neurology, Geriatrics, or General Medicine (or equivalent).
• Extensive NHS experience in stroke medicine.
• Strong leadership, clinical decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
