We are looking for a motivated Band 5 who has a wealth of surgical knowledge and who is looking to contribute to improving patients’ journeys.
Your role on SRU is to ensure that patients are welcomed and managed in a safe and timely manner, receive the tests and scan that they require and move through the hospital to an appropriate location. Ensuring that the team are supported throughout the shift and will manage any issues or concerns as they arise.
SRU is a friendly and supportive place to work with a very fast pace due to taking emergency admissions and having many patients pass through the unit 7 days a week. We are looking for an experienced Band 5 Registered Nurse to join the team, who has an interest in emergency general surgery.
Main duties of the job- The role of the Band 5 Nurse on SRU is to ensure that patients are welcomed and managed in a safe and timely manner, receive the
supported throughout the shift and will manage any issues or concerns as they arise.
- SRU is a friendly and supportive place to work with a very fast pace due to taking emergency admissions and having many patients
in emergency general surgery.
- The shifts are days, twilights and nights and you will be expected to work a mixture. A passion for the delivery of high-quality care is
essential for supporting the patients who pass through the unit. As a Band 5 registered nurse you will have excellent interpersonal and
communication skills . You will need the ability to manage the clinical area efficiently and effectively. You will show an understanding ofthe role and how you can effectively look after after acutely unwell patients.
- The ability to contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of local objectives and action plans is essential. An ability
to make decisions quickly and perform well under pressure is an essential part of the role
