Speech and Language Therapist - SUDEP Experience

If you are a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible Speech and Language Therapist with experience in working with children with SUDEP risk, we would love to hear from you!

The post holder will provide a speech and language therapy programme to be implemented at the child's home.

Need specialist training and experience of working with children with SUDEP risk.

Needs to use the PROMPT programme with first and intermediate training courses in PROMPT therapy.

Therapist to develop child's use of AAC.

Programme requires SLT to work with child providing direct therapy no less than 90 min per week (2 sessions per week), equating to 58.5h per annum.

SLT to train child's home based education team and family in methods used in daily eating, drinking and communication system and programmes.

SLT required for 6h per annum to complete report and attend review metting.

SLT required for 6h per annum to reassess report and attend review meeting and prepare new targets.

Salary: £65/h

What you'll need as a Speech Language Therapist - SUDEP Experience:

  • Highly specialist knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent qualifications, including further theoretical training and experience to Master's level equivalent in required speciality
  • Continued Professional Development evidenced by attendance at short specialist postgraduate courses to maintain and develop own specialist knowledge and expertise.
  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent (Post Graduate Diploma or MSc in Speech & Language Therapy leading to registration with HCPC)
  • HCPC Licence to Practice, Registered member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, Membership of relevant CEN
  • 6 months of paid patient facing UK nursing experience from within the past 3 years
  • Up-to-date clinical best practice knowledge
