Job overview
Patient Care:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including:
- Personal hygiene (washing, bathing, dressing)
- Feeding and hydration
- Mobilisation and positioning
- Toileting and continence care
- Observe and report changes in patients’ conditions to qualified staff.
- Support patients emotionally and socially, ensuring dignity and respect.
Clinical Support:
- Support infection prevention and control procedures, including cleaning equipment and environment.
- Skills and Attributes Required:
- Compassion, patience, and empathy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
- Physical ability to assist with patient handling.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must have an approachable manner necessary to deal with patients and their relatives and desirable experience of a hospital environment. Applicants will work as part of a team of nurses on the ward and undertake patient fundamentals of nursing care tasks under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered General Nurse responsible for the patient’s management.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
