Job Overview
We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support the day-to-day purchasing and stock control activities of the business. The successful candidate will assist with placing orders, checking deliveries, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring suppliers meet delivery requirements.
The role requires good communication skills, strong attention to detail, and confidence using Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with purchasing goods, materials, and supplies
- Raise and process purchase orders
- Communicate with suppliers regarding orders and deliveries
- Check and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
- Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies
- Maintain accurate purchasing and stock records
- Update spreadsheets and internal systems using Microsoft Excel
- Support stock control and inventory checks
- Work closely with warehouse and administration teams
- Ensure purchasing documentation is filed and maintained correctly
- Previous purchasing or procurement experience preferred
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Confident communication skills
- Experience checking deliveries or working with stock/inventory is advantageous
- Reliable and punctual
- Proactive and willing to learn
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Able to work independently when required
