About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to lead a dedicated team within Children's Social Care. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by supporting vulnerable children and families, ensuring high-quality social work practice, and leading a team of skilled professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and leadership to a team of social workers managing complex child protection, Children in Need (CIN), and Looked-After Children (LAC) cases.
  • Ensure that risk assessments, case planning, and interventions are completed to the highest standards.
  • Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including Child in Need meetings, Child Protection Conferences, and Looked-After Children reviews.
  • Oversee care proceedings, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and court requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, health services, police, and other agencies to provide effective early intervention and safeguarding.
  • Support and develop staff through regular supervision, reflective practice, and training opportunities.
  • Contribute to service improvement, quality assurance, and best practice development across the team.
  • Deputise for the Group Manager when required and assist in managing team resources effectively.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Social Work England registration and a degree in Social Work (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in children's social care, particularly in child protection, CIN, or LAC.
  • Strong leadership, supervision, and case management skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage a busy caseload.
  • Knowledge of legislation and best practices, including the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and care proceedings.
  • Experience in multi-agency collaboration and working within safeguarding frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
