Are you a strategic leader with relational and organisation skills and would like to have the opportunity to help support and deliver the business management of our Safeguarding Children’s Partnership?

Wandsworth Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP) is jointly led by the Police, Integrated Care Board and Wandsworth Council.WSCP is responsible for protecting children and young people in Wandsworth from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation, and promoting their welfare.

As a Service Manager, your role will be to support Safeguarding Partners and Relevant Agencies in co-ordinating their safeguarding services; acting as a leader in supporting and engaging others; co-ordinating the partnership response to serious child safeguarding incidents and implementing local and national learning from Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews as defined in Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023.

About the role

You will be responsible for ensuring that the Safeguarding Partnership meets its statutory duties and will manage the business unit directing their work for the smooth running of all partnership activities. This will include attending relevant regional and national groups to promote and develop the work of the partnership.

Day to day you will oversee and manage the strategic and operational delivery of the Children’s Safeguarding Partnership, its Executive and its subgroups.This involves working alongside the partnership executive group and chair, scrutineers and key strategic safeguarding leads and chairs of the subgroups.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Degree or equivalent level professional qualification (e.g.Social Care, Education, Health or Police), or able to demonstrate this specialist knowledge through extended experience and training.
  • Extensive experience of effective partnership working and setting and delivering clear priorities.
  • Understanding of key legislation and statutory guidance pertaining to children’s safeguarding.
  • Budget management, excellent organisation and project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and engage with frontline staff, community members, strategic leaders, elected members and members of the public.
  • Ability to use data and feedback to drive improvements with proven report writing skills.
