Pocklington is a thriving and successful co-educational independent school 12 miles east of York, providing day and boarding education.
We require a weekend catering assistant to work in the school’s dining hall and kitchen where we provide a safe, nutritious and fun eating environment for all members of the Pocklington School Foundation.
You’ll be a strong team player who follows instructions well and has good communication skills. You will wash up or load the dishwasher, clean the dining area and cooking equipment as well as assist in the preparation and serving of meals. Previous experience of working in a school or food handling environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

We have three shifts available which can be broken down into one, two or three different roles; please indicate on your application which shifts you are interested in:
- Every other Saturday 7am – 1:30pm (includes half an hour unpaid break) – 6 hours
- Sunday 8:30am – 2:30pm (includes half an hour unpaid break) – 5 ½ hours
- Sunday 4pm – 7pm - 3 hours
You are required to work during term time only plus 3 weeks working during the school holidays.
Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour
You must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application and the minimum age for applicants is 16 years old.
