The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the designated depot and contributing to the group's profitability by achieving sales targets and depot profitability. The role includes cost-saving initiatives, performance management of staff, and building strong relationships with regional accounts.
Key Responsibilities of the Area Sales Manager:
- Ensure accurate account management and documentation for your area, with weekly communication
- Conduct monthly reviews of key local companies for business development
- Take ownership of at least five key regional accounts, meeting quarterly to review service levels, complaints, invoicing, and relationship building
- Monitor performance and ensure contractual targets, productivity levels, and roadside repair rates are achieved
- Provide performance management and training for technicians
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and ensure ‘good practice’ culture is followed
- Handle customer complaints, conducting investigations and reporting promptly
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards (including VOSA and Driver Hours regulations)
- Effectively manage attendance, timekeeping, and holiday requests
- Drive health and safety, ensuring the correct reporting of incidents and compliance with policies
- Recognise high performers and deal with poor performance in the team
- Maintain company brand image through professional conduct and appearance
What We’re Looking For to Fill This Area Sales Manager:
- Extensive experience in people management, customer service, and financial management
- Proven track record in achieving targets and motivating teams
- Knowledge of the rescue and recovery industry and associated policies/procedures
- Understanding of financial management, customer service, and quality standards
- DCPC qualification is desirable
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Strong personal integrity, capability, and presence
