SEN Science Teacher – Full-Time

Location: Exeter, Devon
Pay: £150 - £160 per day

Start Date: Immediate

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Science Teacher to join a specialist education setting in Devon. This is a full-time opportunity for a passionate educator who can engage and support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other complex learning difficulties.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Science lessons that cater to a range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Adapt teaching methods to ensure accessibility for students with SEN and additional needs.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and engagement in Science.
  • Work closely with SENCOs, support staff, and other professionals to provide tailored support for each student.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to encourage positive learning experiences.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with SEMH needs.
  • A strong understanding of differentiated instruction and individualised learning plans.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to diverse learning needs.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
