A Dental Foundation Training Programme Director (TPD) is primarily responsible for the commissioning and provision of, and quality managing, Dental Foundation Training within NHS Primary Care dental practices in the region.
The post holder will have accountable to the Postgraduate Dental Dean under the direction of the Associate Dean for the discharge of their responsibilities. The postholder will have a demonstrable working knowledge of the aims and objectives of Dental Foundation Training and NHS General Dental Practice.
Support recently qualified dentists to develop into safe vibrant independent performers to enter the NHS performer list through high quality foundation training. Act as a point of support for Educational Supervisors and contribute to the training and delivery of educational programmes relevant to DFT.

The postholder will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as outstanding negotiation skills and the ability to motivate others.
