[ref. h2522922] Research Fellow in High Field HTS Magnets - University of Southampton
For this project, you will focus on (a) the development of insulated high temperature superconducting (HTS) windings/coils using REBCO conductors for high field magnets and (b) understanding/reduction of ac losses in HTS cables for high field accelerator magnets by experiments and modelling.
Successful candidate is expected to have a recent PhD in applied/experimental physics or mechanical/electrical engineering, experiences in applied superconductivity and cryogenics would be advantageous.
